Eta Carienae Astro Forecast (“the App”) is a free Google Apps application that provides astronomy-focused weather forecasts. Your privacy is important to us, and this Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. No Personal Information Collected

We do not collect, store, or request any personally identifiable information (PII) from users. No registration, login, or contact details are required to use the App.

2. Location Access and Internet Connection

The App requests access to your device's GPS location to provide accurate weather forecasts based on your position. This information is used locally and is not stored or transmitted unless you explicitly choose to share it (see section 3).

An active internet connection is required to retrieve real-time forecast data.

3. Optional Shared Locations

Users may choose to share their favorite stargazing locations with selected people through the App. These locations consist of:

• Coordinates (latitude and longitude)
• A custom name defined by the user (e.g., “Backyard observatory”)

All shared location data is:

• Voluntarily submitted
• Stored anonymously in our own private cloud-based database
• Not linked to any personal identifier, account, or device information

Locations are not publicly visible within the App. Users may share their saved locations only with other users they choose, for the purpose of organizing group stargazing outings.

4. No Advertising or Analytics

Eta Carienae Astro Forecast contains no advertisements and does not include any analytics or tracking tools. We do not use cookies or third-party services to monitor user activity.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to secure the shared location data stored on our servers. While no system is 100% secure, we are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining data integrity.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and does not contain content inappropriate for children. However, we do not knowingly collect any personal data, including from children under 13.

Parents or guardians who believe their child has submitted personal information can contact us to request deletion.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Any changes will be posted within the App or on its official distribution page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
